Inspired by traditional quilting techniques, including patchwork, English paper piecing and applique, master quilter Sanae Kono has created a charming collection of bags, quilts and accessories to make for you and your home, and to give as charming gifts for your friends and family. Inside you’ll find all your favourite quilting motifs – squares, log cabins, hexagons, diamonds and spools – plus exciting new techniques such as broderie perse, a style of Persian applique which utilises `fussy cut’ print fabric elements. Designs are included for 28 different quilts, bags, pouches, table runners, pillows and more, and each section includes a step-by-step colour photo tutorial with special tips and tricks from the author. Even veteran quilters are sure to learn something new! These beautifully constructed bags and quilts are sure to appeal to both classic and modern quilters.

What is wonderful about this book, is that it contains many many techniques for quilting..

There are 28 projects, but the skills you will learn will take your quilting to another level.

Each beautiful piece showcases a specific quilting design such as Apple Core,  Hexie and Broderie, which is simply stunning.

Rugs, quilts and bags are just some of the impressive items and if you can sew a single stitch then you will be able to create one or more of them.

Included in this book are the templates, which are full sized and the instructions for each piece are simple and easy to follow. The various techniques are given in written and pictorial format and what I loved was the charm of the design are pretty and simple.

My favorite has to be the Broderie Perse and the Hexie Pocket Mini Tote will be the first thing I make, it is just lovely and will make any Summer outfit complete.

2018-04-03 09.05.00 I have never made a floor mat and the Log Cabin is an easy pattern to start with.
