The truth was dead and buried…until now.
When a collection of human bones is unearthed during a routine archaeological dig, a Black Country field suddenly becomes a complex crime scene for Detective Kim Stone.
As the bones are sorted, it becomes clear that the grave contains more than one victim. The bodies hint at unimaginable horror, bearing the markings of bullet holes and animal traps.
Forced to work alongside Detective Travis, with whom she shares a troubled past, Kim begins to uncover a dark secretive relationship between the families who own the land in which the bodies were found.
But while Kim is immersed in one of the most complicated investigations she’s ever led, her team are caught up in a spate of sickening hate crimes. Kim is close to revealing the truth behind the murders, yet soon finds one of her own is in jeopardy – and the clock is ticking. Can she solve the case and save them from grave danger – before it’s too late?
Kim Stone is back.
Along with suicide murder and brutal attacks Kim and her nemesis Travis are locked together to discover what the hell is going on.
Back again are Doctor A and Tracy Frost, one clever and helpful, the other an annoyance to Kim and Travis but she does add a certain spark that lights Kims investigations . ( You do know Tracy is based on me..don’t you 🙂 )
Topical and on point, Marsons has once again had me glued to the pages like a barnacle on a boat.
Angela Marsons never assumes the readers understanding of what she writes and all procedures are laid out in such a way that I really feel part of what is happening.
Dead Souls is pure brilliance. Written and plotted in true Marsons style it does not disappoint and to be perfectly honest I CANNOT GET ENOUGH.. From book one I have been glued and this is book six and I am still excited and stimulated by Kim and her team.
With each novel. one of team comes into their own and we learn a little more and become engrossed by what life for these close knit people has in store. In Dead Souls, Kim in taken away from her gang and with Detective Travis has to uncover the details of the horrific murders. Stacy, who is usually so ‘together’ has a major role and we get to know a lot about her. I just loved her.
This series is just crying out for a TV show to be made. I would just love to see Kim come to life.
Ms Marsons is an author I recommend over and over. She is fast becoming THE big name in crime fiction and she does it so bloody well…….NEXT
