It was supposed to be the trip of a lifetime, a final adventure before settling down.
After a perfect start, Daniel and Laura’s travels end abruptly when they are thrown off a night train in the middle of nowhere. To find their way back to civilisation, they must hike along the tracks through a forest…a haunting journey that ends in unimaginable terror.
Back in London, Daniel and Laura vow never to talk about what they saw that night. But as they try to fit back into their old lives, it becomes clear that their nightmare is just beginning…
When Daniel and Laura find themselves somewhere in the middle of nowhere with Alina they decide to walk the six miles to the nearest town. Their passports, money and Laura’s phone have all been stolen and Daniel’s phone is out of battery, Alina has nothing but the clothes she stands up in.
Something happens and Laura and Daniel begin to unravel in the most explicit way.
This is not a book to read with the lights out or anything to do with after dark, it is a menacing, terrifying read. It takes hold of you from the start and leads you almost ‘gently’ into the horror that is Follow You Home.
Mark Edwards novel is one that makes you want to skip to the back few pages to see how it ends, such is the intensity of the story. It is well written and goes at a satisfying pace. I really enjoyed this novel and read it in one sitting, which for me is the sign of a good read. I am sure you will enjoy it too.
