Libby Potter has just lost the perfect job, the perfect apartment and the perfect boyfriend. Moving back to the same home town that she couldn’t wait to escape when she was younger was definitely not on her todo list. Especially as it means running into the man whose heart she broke when she left.
Pete Bennett can still make Libby’s world stop with just the sound of his voice – even ten years on. Only now, she is the last person in the world that he wants to see.
As everyone else welcomes Libby home with open arms, she realizes she’s missed that special closeness that comes from lifelong friendship. And, as Libby tries to make amends with Pete, she begins to wonder whether she made the right choice in leaving all those years ago.
When an amazing career opportunity gives her the chance to leave again, Libby will have to decide what her version of perfect is… and where she really belongs.
I am a big fan of the person that is Jenny Hale, so I was so pleased that she sent Love Me For Me as a favour.
Love me For Me is a beautiful descriptive novel, I could almost smell the sea, taste the wine and feel Libby’s heartbreak.
Libby had her life all mapped out, she has left her hometown for the success of the city where she will marry Wade, have children and enjoy life. When she finds herself jobless, homeless and fiance-less she returns. She has to renovate the cottage that belonged to her childhood sweetheart, which she and Wade have now bought together, in order to sell it for a profit.
While moving boxes to the attic she finds a love-letter.
The reader knows from the very beginning that Libby’s feelings for Pete are still strong and I wanted to rush to the end to see if they finally reunite.
Love Me For Me is a gentle romance that takes you on a journey that is filled with delight. Libby’s decisions about what she wants and where she wants to be in her life is marred only by her desire for Pete.
Jenny Hale is the Queen of romance novels and I love the way she weaves her tale, she makes you feel for the characters, who also in their own way become your friends. I wanted Libby to follow her heart, I fell in love with Pete, agreed with Jeanie, cried for ‘pop’ and gradually understood Celia.
I am not usually a romance fan, but Love Me For Me is a fantastic read and one which I thoroughly enjoyed. Jenny Hale has convinced me that a really good romance novel has a place on my bookshelves.
